Many of my clients describe losing a loved one was like being hit by a Mac truck. There is something unbelievable about how a loved one is no longer with us ;it is akin to a sudden shock. The need to tell one's story and organize the narrative is essential to the process of healing. Repeating the story in front of witnesses either in a group setting or individually helps integrate this new reality into one's frame of reference. The purpose of the sessions is to help you make the adjustment that your loved one is no longer present with you and thus helping you feel less alone in your personal tragedy.
Having experienced the loss of a loved one can feel isolating. Connecting to an experienced grief counselor who can understand the process of grief and guide you through this makes the whole experience feel less overwhelming. The facilitator will also help to identify normal grief responses and suggest ways to encourage healing, such as creating rituals.
Bereavement Groups are widely considered to be the best therapeutic forum for coping with a loss. Each member will have the opportunity share his or her feelings while learning about the grieving process through the experiences of others. I organize bereavement groups for general need rather than structuring them around specific types of loss.

Brooklyn Bereavement's Groups

Grief Processing Group

Having a loss of a loved one is like being hit by a Mac Truck. It can be overwhelming & physically painful. I provide individual or group sessions In the group sessions the confusion and loneliness of grief can be lessened significantly, and the group members can share not just feelings of loss and sadness, but also of hope and healing. In my practice, I organize bereavement groups for general need rather than structuring them around particular types of loss. I find that group members with different losses make emotional connections that I as a group leader could never predict.

Bereavement Group

Bereavement groups are organized around the loss of a love one, not a particular type of loss. Members with different losses make emotional connections that I as a group leader could never predict. Here is some of what you can expect by participating in the group: • Meet over a video platform- facilitated by a compassionate grief professional. • Find the tools you need to help you grow and heal. • Share your experiences, thoughts, and feelings. • Talk with others in the same situation. • Learn more about what to expect from your grief. • Find healing and comfort through Alexander Technique and relaxation exercises.
