The Latin word for addiction means "enslavement" and when you look at the Latin meaning of addiction that is exactly what it does. An addiction to drugs and alcohol will come in an control your entire life making sure that you do nothing more than become preoccupied with the use of the substance. It is hard to be vulnerable and seek help, to talk about things you maybe have never told another or feel guilty for thinking. I am skilled at compassionate listening, inquisitive, creative in viewpoint and rather good at case conceptualizing. My position as your therapist is an ally. Stress is the main culprit of most of our problems. However, it is how we respond to stress that may trigger the cascading of related body responses that can disrupt our health or benefit from it. While prayers and meditation are not meant to replace antibiotics or a fit diet, they can begin alleviating fear and let one enter into a self-discovery journey where one can even find oneself. Factors such as a broken heart, living alone, depression and poor marital relationships can contribute to bad health and leave one not living life to the fullest. These treatment strategies work with children, adolescents, young, midlife and old.

I have spent most of my time in practice assisting those with some type of trauma. I have worked with various ages of clientele from children to adults. I find great satisfaction in facilitating the client from the identity of a "Victim" to that of "Thriver." I also know that each client is different, so I don't believe in using a "cookie cutter" type of therapy for each client. I firmly believe when there is hope, there is change. Many come to my office almost without hope for change, and often find that there is hope for something different, something better in their lives after the first session. I love what I do each day!
